Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Guitar Amp

Blackstar just unveiled a new iteration of their line of ID:CORE practice amps: the Blackstar ID:CORE V4. These come in four different models where the differences are mainly between footswitch support (not on the smaller ones), different power and speaker sizes (10, 20 and 40 watts and 2×3″, 2×5″ or 2×6,5″ speakers) as well as Bluetooth connectivity.

Other features include:

  • Architect software (Mac/Win) for editing and sharing patches online
  • 12 effects in “immersive Super Wide Stereo”
  • Blackstar’s patented ISF control for tonal shaping
  • Built-in chromatic tuner
  • Direct-to-phone TRRS audio for live streaming or recording videos
  • Power reduction to 1W if you want/need to play at low volumes without sacrificing tone
  • Bluetooth connectivity (on Bluetooth models)
  • Direct USB recording, making the amp double up as an audio interface
  • Blackstar’s CabRig Lite (advanced speaker simulator for recorded sound)
  • USB-C connectivity

Granted, the only Blackstar amp I’ve got is the super tiny Blackstar Fly 3 Charge but considering how impressed I am by that little practice monster I’m extremely interested in these more versatile and heavy-hitting contenders.

Prices should range between $159 to $229 depending on size and features.
