Solar Guitars just revealed their first made-in-Spain Chop Shop release for 2024: The Solar AB1.6FR “Chrome Canibalismo”. The most spectacular thing about this metal axe is that it is in fact covered in metal, and the finish takes quite a while to cure and harden so the appearance will change naturally over time.

They have a 5 stage process to cover the body in metal and after the base metal coat is applied they give it the Solar signature Canibalismo splatter. Being metal, the finish will oxidize over months and years so each guitar ends up unique with its own patina.

Besides the metal finish you get Solar locking tuners, 25.5″ scale, C-shaped roasted 3-piece maple neck, Floyd Rose 1000 trem bridge, roasted maple fretboard with the Solar logo on 12th fret, Luminlay sidedots and for pickups you get Duncan Solar Dual Rail for the neck and a Solar Modern Bridge pickup.

These hand-crafted, European made Solars aren’t the cheapest of the bunch though, this one will set you back €2,390 (about $2,600).
