Gibson reimagines the Les Paul Studio for 2024
GuitarsGibson just revamped the Les Paul Studio for 2024. The LP Studio was introduced back in 1983 when Gibson noticed a lack in their lineup for a more lower-priced guitar, so the Studio was born to attract players that wanted that genuine Les Paul sound without necessarily wanting to pay for the looks and features of Gibson’s more expensive models (like body/neck binding and headstock inlays). The name itself actually comes from that the guitar was supposed to sound exactly like any other Les Paul but you could reserve the more expensive and fancier looking ones (like Customs or Standards) for stage use. Makes sense.
So, what’s up with the reimagined Les Paul Studio in 2024 then? Well, you get:
- An ultra modern weight-relieved mahogany body with a carved, plain maple cap (available in four nitrocellulose lacquer finishes)
- A SlimTaper profiled mahogany neck with a traditional heel
- A bound rosewood fretboard (acrylic trapezoid inlays)
- Two Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups with push/pull volume knobs for coil tapping
- Vintage deluxe tuners (keystone buttons)
- Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with a lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece
- Graph Tech nut
- Soft shell case
- Price: $1,599
The four nitro finishes available are Cherry Sunburst, Wine Red, Blueberry Burst and Ebony. Got to say that Blueberry Burst sure looks appealing.
