Gibson Slash "Jessica" Les Paul Standard

Gibson just revealed the latest collaboration with one of their biggest ambassadors, Slash: The absolute classic “Jessica” 1987 Les Paul Standard, a new model based on his honey burst with red back famous from Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child O’ Mine. I mean, Slash has been rocking that thing since the late 80s when Gibson sent it to him and it apparently started out as more of a cherry burst but he had it re-finished to make it duller.

Now, a guitar similar to this already existed an Epiphone in their Slash collection as the Appetite Burst but this one really looks the part. You get nitrocellulose finish, a non-weight-relieved mahogany body, a 3-piece maple top, mahogany neck that is pretty hefty and shaped in the 50s vintage profile so a bit more rock n roll than modern guitars. Hardware-wise you get a pair of Custom Burstbucker pickups with Alnico 2 magnets.

Like the Epiphone equivalent these also rock the Slash “Skully” logo on the back of the headstock which also got Vintage Deluxe keystone tuners, plus you get Schaller Strap Locks, a USA leather strap, a hardcase, Slash pick set, a Slash Signature truss rod cover (a blank one is included if you want to make it your own) and.. well, no pick guard.
