Wolfgang Van Halen Signature EVH SA-126 Special Guitar

Here’s Wolfgang Van Halen‘s new signature guitar: The semi-hollow EVH SA-126 Special. Fun side-fact: The number 126 bears significance since Wolfgang’s dad, Eddie, named his signature guitar ‘Wolfgang’ after his son, and now his son set the model number after Eddie’s birthday, January 26th. The more you know…

SA-126 is the very definition of innovation incarnate. It’s a hybrid between semi-hollow and solid body guitar: think chambered/center block solid body blended with a bolt-on neck, then kitted out with features most frequently associated with high performance guitar brands such as a slim neck, jumbo frets and higher output pickups.

Now, this mahogany semi-hollow/solid body hybrid beauty is available in four finishes: Tobacco Sunburst (Gold Hardware) and Transparent Purple (Chrome Hardware) with quilt maple tops and Matte Army Drab as well as Stealth Black with black hardware. Necks are “natural satin” finished, modern C shaped 2-piece mahogany, 24.75″ scale, 12″-16″ Compound Radius ebony fretboard with jumbo frets.

Hardware-wise you get EVH SA-126 humbuckers in both bridge and neck position (designed by Fender’s resident pickup designer Tim Shaw and the EVH team), Graph Tech TUSQ nut as well as EVH Keystone Tuners, EVH Harmonica bridge and over-sized strap buttons.

These also come with a ivory vinyl hardshell case with a blue crushed velvet interior.
